The National Science Centre, Guwahati organizes the State Level Science Seminar in the last week of August every year, in collaboration with the Department of Secondary Education. Each year, the seminar is based on a specific scientific topic.
Two students from each district of Assam, studying in classes VIII to X, are selected by their respective School Inspectors to participate in the state-level competition. Each participant is given 6 minutes to present their views on the chosen topic.
The winner of the State Science Seminar goes on to represent Assam at the National Science Seminar. The primary objective of the Science Seminar is to foster scientific inquiry and promote analytical thinking among young students.
