Mobile Science Exhibition
Science Centres serve as a vital bridge between scientific and technological institutions and society. They play a crucial role in keeping the public informed about advancements in various fields of science and technology. Since most science centres and museums are located in major cities, the Mobile Science Exhibition (MSE) programme is designed to reach the rural population, especially school students in remote areas.
The MSE unit consists of 19–20 interactive exhibits mounted on a specially designed bus. Currently, the themes of the exhibition include "Machines in Everyday Life," "Water and Chemistry," and "Fun Science." These exhibits offer students and visitors a hands-on learning experience that promotes understanding through interaction and discovery.
The exhibition unit travels from place to place, typically covering 10 locations in a single tour, with each exhibition usually held for 2 to 3 days in a school. In addition to the exhibits, the unit also conducts Science Demonstration Lectures, science film screenings, sky observation sessions, and other engaging activities to complement classroom learning and spark curiosity in science.
