The Earth was formed approximately 4,600 million years ago. Over this vast span of geological time, millions of plant and animal species have evolved. Towering mountain ranges have risen and eroded, and continents have shifted—breaking apart, drifting across the globe, and colliding again to form new land masses. The fossil record shows that different animals appeared at different periods, each shaped by tiny, gradual changes over millions of years—a process known as evolution. These continuous changes from one generation to the next have led to the diversity of life we see today. While none of the prehistoric animals exist now, evolution is an ongoing process that continues to shape life on Earth.
The Prehistoric Life Park, spread over 2,720 square meters, is the first of its kind in the North-Eastern region of India. It offers a fascinating journey into the ancient past, bringing to life the world as it existed from around 500 million to 10,000 years ago. The park recreates the environment in which prehistoric animals lived—both on land and in the seas—offering an immersive and educational experience.
To explore the awe-inspiring world of ancient life and witness the grandeur of creatures from Earth’s distant past, we invite you to visit the Prehistoric Life Park.
